i purchase inkjet transfer paper and then downloaded avery labels for free. i then use the minnie label template and design my own labels a small motif can be added. if carefull with teh size font i can actually make two iron on tags from one label, now , the minnie label ends up as 65 labels per sheet so double that . thats a lot of iron on labels for very little outlay just remember to flip the label as it is placed face down to be ironed on.
you do not need to buy the avery paper.
i have several designs acording to item i have made. you can iron these onto a ribbon and then just place the ribbon ends between seams or iron on direct. if yo want any help then let me know as i could perhaps design the lable for you and send the file zipped but you will need the avery lables download to open it.
if you do want to sew out a label then the best small font i have found is actually free check out skeldalehouse but you do have to join her yahoo group to get acces to it well worth the effort as it sews out just so wonderfully.

I ordered from the following link which costs $270 for 500. I also have ink stamp which cost about several dollars to make. I will stamped on a ribbon and sew the ribbon on the clothes I made. Pretty much if the clothes are very expensive, I used the tags I brought. If the clothes are not expensive, I used stamp.

eggyannie, This site has beautiful fonts and it even has The Ten Commandments in Hebrew. I didn't see any small fonts so I think I have to join the group to see them. I will check it out. Thank you for your help. I have only made one real quilt and I didn't even make all of it. My Mother In Law was making a quilt for my oldest son but she passed away before it was finished. I finished it and I need to label it to give credit to her and make it more heirloom.
