Dear CUTE family - after careful thought, concern and much discussion over what to do with the money that was donated on behalf of a purchase of a Laptop for Loretta - since she no longer has a need for or can utilize a laptop in the nursing home - I have set up a Trust Fund for her use of the money within the nursing home. She will be able to access the funds at any time to purchase items that are for sale in the gift store or to use in the beauty shop for getting her hair - cut, perm, or whatever - weekly. She was really pleased with that at it allows her to be independent and she used it for the first time yesterday - to get her hair done. I hope those of you that voiced your opinion on what you would want her to use the money for - are pleased with the outcome. Thank you each for your love and ongoing support for Loretta. She is working on a way to keep in touch and hopefully that will work out for her, too. Unconditional Love, Shirlene

Shirlene, I have missed a lot of whats going on but using the money this way is lovely. I have an friend in a nursing home & after a few protests we got her to have her feet massaged & nails cut, she now looks forward to having it. Thankyou for all you are doing.

Shirlene, thanks for letting us know, and for all the time and effort you put into this project for Loretta. Sometimes things just don't work out the way we think they will, and that's ok. If having this money makes Loretta feel more independent, gives her some choice in her actions, then HOORAY!! There is nothing worse than having been self-sufficient, and then being reduced to having to give up something so simple as getting your hair done because you don't have the cash.
