I use the washaway stabilizer on my grandayghters blanket, in front and on the back. Good luck.

I agree, I used water soluble or wash away on fleece scarfs and it did well. Use on top and bottom. With receiving blankets you would want to wash anyway to get all the lint out.

I just finished making a few myself and found the stiching on the back was a little scratchy for what I wanted. I checked at my local sewing store and they sold me some iron on silky jersey type fabric that I ironed on after the project was completed. It worked great and is good looking. The fabric was in the same area as the stabilizers and you only need a small patch to cover the stitched area. Good luck!

Last saterday I was watching Fon's and Porter and they were using a product that you iron on over embroidery. I can't remember what it is called but you could probably find it on thier web site. Hope this helps.

I noticed that many baby items in the store have a product over the back of the design - I wonder if it is like the silky jersey fabric that sandi54 suggested.
