I have so much trouble reading patterns. What is very discouraging it take me much more time to make things than pattern suggests. I love to try but am extremely slow. VERY VERY slow.

Bravo is a good idea! I teach people patchwork, embroidery and "boutis". I of course volunteered on Wednesday and Friday. I love to convey my passion to other people!*4U

Good luck with your new venture! People making their own clothes is becoming a lost art form! Not very many people still take the time to sit pick out the pattern,material,cut it out then sit down and sew it up. I did it for alot of years but since my Mom passed away I have not sewn for anyone but myself. My Mom thought she had to buy from the most expensive dress shops around but after I made her a few pants suits, she quit shopping! She would not even pick out the material. She left it up to me. I bet she had 50 or more outfits that she was wearing when she passed away that I had made her. Too bad we were not the same size. I did give them all away. Someone got some use out of them. She was a smoker and I would never have been able to wear them anyway. My allergies would not have let me!
If you enjoy what you are doing don't give it up. That is part of your rewards! You are really giving alot of people a chance that they would not have otherwise! Enjoy. Maybe you can throw in some embroidery with it. You know, glitz with the glamor!Linda in Ga

Marietta, much success in your endeavor to help others learn - you have to be a good teacher - that is for sure. Just keep doing what you are doing and you will keep getting what you are getting. Enjoy yourself and let them know all the wonderful things they can do with sewing and embroidery and you will help alot of ladies learn a new and exciting craft.

Oh Marietta what fun! Teaching is so rewarding. I have always felt I received more than I gave. The look of accomplishment and pride on their faces melted my heart.
My oldest son learned how to sew. He wants me to ship him one of my older machines. He has to borrow a machine when he wants to sew. His last project was drapes for the living room and he thinks he kept the friends machine a little to long. hahahaha
