I saw a picture of a computer screen that had a program showing how much top thread was used and how much bobbin thread was used. I suppose it is some design software that I don't own since my ancient PE Design is "old school". That's why I figured there was some algebraic equation I was looking for. I think the answer from dkjack will be very helpful. If anyone has more info, perhaps about the bobbin, please add it. Thank you.

I use Janome's Digitizer Pro, but I did download Tajima's Pulse to see if I could do something with ART files. Tajima is a free program, and when you open a stitch file in it, it will give you a lot of information. If you go to print preview, the first page will tell you the bobbin usage, and the second page will tell you the thread usage for each color in the design. On the first page, also, is a $ cost, but I'm not just sure what this price is based on. I'm assuming it's what you 'should' charge for sewing out the design. You'll have to do a search for Tajima, I don't remember the site address, but it is a free download, and a really nice little program. You can print out the sheets, too, tells you how many thread changes, etc. Best of luck, Marji
