Grand -daughter's school ( same one as her Mother and Grandfather went to) is having a big reunion and Fete in September, So I've started to make some things for them to sell, to raise money for the school. These are thread catcher and pin cushion. Designs are all diffent with the colours to tie in with the fabric made 6 of these and recovered my 2 as I was sick of the colour.

Great idea! What do you put in the pin cushion? Do you weight the pin cushion so that it stays on the table and the thread catcher bag hangs down the front of the table?
by roslyn 01 Apr 2009
There is a Ceramic tile 6" square padded in the pin cushion. Not too much as you have to put it in the square material (open at one end with the hanger for the thread catcher attached) Then you stuff more "hobby fill" into the opening and then you close it up by hand. Add a button to the centre of the bag. The bag can be any size, and that has a loop of Plastic Tubing in it. About one and 1/4 times around the bag. Yes the bag does hang down in front of the table. Good luck

What a great idea ! If you don't mind I might steal your idea for my church who has just been restaured and has to rise a lot of money to pay it.
One question: What did you insert in the thread catcher ?
