I thought it meant you don't let the software automatically choose your stitches. But that seems like it would take a long time to put every stitch in the design. I don't really know.

You can choose between letting the software automatically make the design or set points yourself, along the outline of areas, along lines and so on, choose the stitch you want, filling stitch, satin, treble or single outline, etc. The first method results in far less satisfying designs as the software often cut corners (literally) and so leaves gaps or alters the design in a way you don't want. It's much more labour intensive to manually or hand punch, but the results are far better.

if you go to search and type in what you want to find it will find it for you.I find out a lot of things like that.

Martine is right, Monica. It simply means that it is digitized manually. In other words, you are telling the software what you want to do with the design. It takes a lot longer,depending on the complexity of the design, but it looks much better and gives you a lot more freedom to work with any type of image, even when it is not 100 percent clear or "clean"
