Another outfit for Marisa. This time, I started with an already "embroidered-by-my-grandma" vintage pillowcase. A few months ago, my Aunt gave me this pillowcase. It had seen it's last day on her guest bed. It had a nice corner rip, an area with small holes and some small scattered stains. But...the rest of it was fine, so she gave it to me to "do something with". I looked at it almost all winter in my sewing room. I thought maybe I could make some sachets with it...but really didn't like that idea. Then it came to me...use my favorite pattern for another top! I had plenty of fabric, even working around holes and stains, to make the size 2 top. I found a piece of a picque knit in just the right shade of pink to make the capris. Needless to say, my sister absolutely LOVES this outfit...and to think that it was something that my grandma "helped" to make years ago, is just an added bonus! I wish she could see her pillowcase on Marisa! I can't wait to show my Aunt Joie what I came up with using her old pillowcase! As a extra feature....I've done another smilebox for your pleasure. Enjoy!
Is that why we never through out fabric????????
Hugs
