put her on blood thinner. He felt she would be better off at her own home even though she is critical, because she could catch something in the hospital. Thank you for all your prayers and positive wishes. I realize we live one day at a time and she enjoys each day she has. Every nurse or worker that came into her room, she would ask for their name and then say "I'm 100 yrs. old." We would say almost!!!! Her birthday is May 4 and if she makes it, sure enough, she will be 100 years old. Love, Kay

Oh, Kay you MUST send a note to Willard Scott so he can wish your mom a Happy Birthday on national TV.! I don't know if our current president does, but all of the rest have sent birthday cards to everyone who requests them for 100th birthdays. That is really special! What a blessing for you that she is being cared for.

I mentioned it to my sister earlier about Willard Scott. I will have to do it again. With my family's strong Republican ties, don't know about current political recognition. She is the daughter of a Tn. Governor( Ben W. Hooper)

Dear Kay, I will pray for you and your Mother - it can't be easy - to have her in such a fragile state - but I think the doctor was smart to have her stay at home - she will rally around - for her birthday - if nothing else - you stay strong for her and let her know - that we are praying for her and only wish a speedy recovery for each of you.

Kay, I hope she recovers enough to enjoy that special birthday. At this age recovery is so slow, but being in her own home must mean a lot to her.

How wonderful to have lived a century. So much she has seen & so many changes, certainly not all for the better. Glad she's home now Kay & God Bless. Lillian
