When I download a design in PES, it will download to my computer but not to my software. What do I need to do to get it to open in my software?

In my software, Janome Digitizer Pro, I open an existing design (same proceedure as opening an existing word document) from a drop down menu that shows my files and folders clicking on the design I want and it is imported into the programme. Hope this helps I could show you much easier than trying to put the explanation into words!! :)

Come on over!!! I just have the PEDesign Basic right now and I have a Brother PE 750-D machine. On most sites, I don't have a problem downloading. Most times the download comes as a zipped file and I can unzip and it works fine, but these files are coming as just a PES file and they are not working.
OK I'll just jump on a plain!! Seriously I don't know about PEDesign BUT someone on here must - I do hope you find your answer, it's so frustating, isn't it when your programmes don't work for you. Good luck and all the best.

Hello nannie it all depends on the program you are using to send to your machine. there are different ones my 4D organizing program will open zip files for me so I never have to unzip ahead of time I just double click on them and they go to my program for my machine. but embrid will not open zip files you must have them already out of your zip in order for it to recognize it. windows will unzip files for you but it will not keep them out of the zip you have to save them somewere else.

your pe-design should recognize the pes format zipped or unzipped. So I don't understand either. But your question will be on top again now. And by the way: welcome on the cute site.

Hi nannie welcome to Cute. There are sometimes that you download a design and due to problems with the design it doesnot work. You end up getting cross and frustrated. Not sure about PE Design basic, other PE Designs (I have PEDes) just download and I either put onto my memory stick or a floppy disk. Embroidery designs will not open on a computer unless the card reader is connected.

when you open your software (your Ped basic) you should see a little file box to the left of your screen..click on it and a box will appear with the files you have on your computer...I keep my emb files in "my documents" so I just click on the file I want to select and hit okay...I have several file folders to organize my designs..the little plus signs next to file folders in the box means there are folders in folders you would need to click on the folder to open it to see the other folders..I hope this makes sense to you..Once you have selected the file and hit okay it should come up in your ped..you can not download the files to the ped basic...

My problem is not with getting the files to download to my computer. I've got that down OK. My problem is if they don't come zipped so I can unzip them they don't show up in the folder in my PED Basic. They show up in my PED Basic folder in "My Documents", but not in the PED folder. What I need to know is how to get them to show in the PED folder if the don't come in a zipped file. I appreciate everyone's help!!!!
