how you get the leather to stay in place on the lower part of the hoop that needs to clip onto the machine?

Go to "Embroidery Library Projects" there is information there on how to embroidery leather. Hope this helps. H&*.

You hoop sticky stabilizer, the one that comes with a removable paper on top, sticky site up. Remove as much of the paper as needed by scoring it with a pin. Then you just stick the leather on top. No hoop marks.
