Good for you! I always help people at JoAnns. Hancock Fabrics used to be the place to buy fabric around here, but their stores were a mess! All the fabric was piled up and you had to dig to find anything decent. Now in the Sacramento area, Hancocks have gone out of business, and the only place to buy fabrics is at joannes. The Salespeople at Joannes don't have a clue when you ask a question. The people waiting in line are the best people to ask. Sad, but true. Maybe you can turn Hancocks unto Norstroms.

That's so cool! We have no Hancock fabrics around my way. I would love to see one. OH...You might just be glad you had to turn down that job. I had a job at AC Moore, and I spent way too much of my paychecks in there. YIKES!

We once had a Hancock's in Joplin,Mo. But went out of along time ago, I am thinking over 20 years ago.
I still buy on line, when I can not find what I am looking for a JoAnn's . We have Hobby Lobby,some wal-marts still have fabric in this area. But I am at JoAnn's at three to four times a month. I spend way to much their. I'd love to have a job there too. But don't have the time. The only thing that's bad about our store it's a very small one. No classes like at the big ones. I hear that the Big store is in Texas. ( were everything is BIG , so I hear).
I never get out of Joann's less than $40.00 to $60.00. My husband leaves me there and he goes down the street to a tool store, comes back 2-3 hours later. I'd be days in a large store.HE! HE!

Oh MM if the wages were right I would've snatched up that position! Oh just imagine getting to work and get paid for doing what you enjoy! Oh wait I do that already lol, well I know you do not love your current employment, if I were you I would really reconsider the offer.

We have a fairly big JoAnn's in Harrison, Ohio, but NO CLASSES. I think they did at one time, but no more. I wish they would build a Superstore there .. but then I would not have any time to spend with the Cuties because I would be at JoAnn's.

Doesn't that make you feel great? That was a great deal on what you got. Shirlene's idea of working one or two days a month - just to get a discount would be great. No matter where I have to go, I usually have to drive about 30 minutes, unless I just stay local, and there is nothing but a WalMart close to me. I was asked to work for the Viking sotre, but could not afford the pay cut that I would have to take. But, I told them when I retire I would think about it. I don't know where there is a Hancock store close to me. Don't know if I have ever been in one. I will have to go one line and check it out.

I think you should approach them about being paid to come and be a guest helper!!! that way they could advertize that you would be there on a certain day during certain hours!!!Like the Real CELEB that YOU are!!!:)

You could be an "on call" employee and work when someone calls in sick or vacation. I say go for it girl! Love them discounts... :-)

Oh Mary, I would certainly think about the job...nothing like some 'fun' money (for embroidery). The discount was really nice of the manager...you must have impressed her!!! Good things do happen!!!! Half an hour isn't far.

Not every day one is offered a job and in something you know. What material did you buy?. I have not come across Hancocks fabrics but it sounds good

I love Hancock Fabrics but the closest one to me is 3.5 hours away. 25 miles away is the closest town I live to. 25 miles of dirt roads, no rock. To some 30 minutes is a breeze. Great fortune for you this time, hopefully it will happen again. A couple days a month isn't a bad idea to get the discount.

How exciting. The drive wouldn't be that bad if the pay is good. We don't have a Hancock fabrics anywhere nearby. I wonder if they have franchises. The only fabric store we have is a small JoAnn on the other side of town:-(

I love Hancock fabrics too!!!!****30 minutes is nothing. I was working 13.5 from home and it took one and a half to two hours to get there, plus paying toll road fees both ways too.
