How did you find out that you are banned???

I received a ban once. I contacted the site and after several days I received a reply saying that something had gone wrong with yahoo. Be patient, they may get back to you and reinstate you. I do believe that anything can go wrong with a computer.

Hopefully this can be resolved soon.

FRIEND don't get discouraged. It will work itself out. As someone stated computers make mistakes. Don't allow this to take away what you LOVE...EMBROIDERING. It's a GIFT, ENJOY your GIFT!!! March on courageously!!! *2U

please ask why!! i am a member of several groups and the past week or so Yahoo has been making changes and some group owners have told us Yahoo goofed and dropped or banned some members unbeknownst to them, but you must be in contact with them to resolve it if that is the case. They can't fix it if they don't know! wish you success.

I have no idea what is going on with Yahoo but I have been having alot of problems with Yahoo itself. The Yahoo Groups that I belong to are good and decent groups and I have never had any problems with them.My problem with the groups is MY problem. I hate getting the same thing posted over and over again from every group. You get 10/15/20/ of the same thing over and over. My emails just pile up and with Yahoo having problems I am almost 200 thousand emails behind. Most days I do not even open Yahoo. This has been going on for months and months. I got sick and could not get to the computer then everybody in the family seemed to have something wrong with them and I got so far behind that I hate to even log on. My son keeps telling me that he will come in and erase everything for me but so far, no luck. Everyone on Yahoo groups seems to be very nice for the most part. There are a few that I have made friends with over the years. Most of them do beautiful work and on occasion offer free designs or good sale prices. There are a few that have out of this world beautiful designs also. I just don't go there as much since I found this wonderful group of people at Cute. I think if you explain your situation, most will understand. Linda in Ga.

I just saw this, and I hope you will all take my reply in the spirit it's given. I'm NOT singling out anyone, least of all you TinFriend. But I'd like you all to stop and think a minute, OK? I don't see the point of posting all this stuff about Yahoo Groups here at Cute. If you belong to the group, you get e-mails about new hunts, etc. If you don't belong to the group, you can't get the things that are for the group only. So why is this being posted here at Cute? I think you should be interested enough in the groups you belong to that you would be able to check them out on your own. The Cute Embroidery forum seems to be becoming a "clearing house" for freebies of any sort from anywhere, and I don't think that was the intent of Veronika when she set it up. If you all continue to post Yahoo Group links here, you are setting us ALL up for being banned from Yahoo Groups we belong to, whether we post those links or not. And you are hurting Veronika's reputation, because the group moderators will be thinking of Cute Embroidery forum as a place for 'cheaters'. I know this is not what anyone INTENDS to have happen. I know links have been posted by MISTAKE, but the group moderators do not have the luxury of time to contact each person individually to see what they have done. If these Yahoo postings continue, I'm afraid all the Cuties will be tarred with the same brush, and if you belong to Cute you might find you're being banned from Yahoo groups. Again, I know this is not what anyone INTENDS, that you are all just trying to be helpful to others, but I do think that Yahoo Group members should be responsible for monitoring their own groups and the freebies they are offered. This forum is not the place for those kind of reminders. And certainly not for links to the Group. If you're a member, you HAVE the link; if you're not a member, you can't use the link unless you join. That simple. I don't think Yahoo stuff should be posted here at Cute.

And TinFriend, I certainly hope you don't leave Cute, because I'd like to think there's more here than just freebie posts. We enjoy your company. We care about each other. I hope you and others will take what I have said in the spirit of that caring, because I certainly don't want anyone to be hurt. I love you all, Marji

I've seen this happen a lot. It's probably just a Yahoo glitch. Wait until you hear from the groups. It may take a bit longer than you wish but I'm sure all will work out in the end. I hope you don't leave Cute because of this cause we love having you here. I also had this happen several months ago and it was Yahoo.

Sandie I am sure there has been a mistake and i do hope you can get it cleared up quickly.
I know Yahoo has been making changes to the groups and most G moderators have been warning their members to be patient as they don't know what problems to expect.

On a different note, if it has been as a result of "Others" posting links to freebies on groups, you can prove your innocence by pointing the moderators in the direction of your membership page here, where they can read all your posts and see that you are innocent.

Please don't leave the Cute group, that solves nothing and serves no purpose.
Besides we would all miss you.

Tin friend, I can tell by what I read that you are very upset. All this does is teach you the good from the bad!! Stay with us, as we at least know how wonderful that you are here. I was banned about 3years ago from sewforum, because I was very new at all of this, and I ask a question they did not like. They banned me without any reason why. In the last 3years I have sure learned the good from the bad. I hope all works out the way you want it to. Remember--"For every door that closes, another one opens". H&*.

Just to let you know it is NOT a YAHOO glitch but the fact is that I am no longer a member of these Yahoo Groups - I have been BANNED! I found out when I wanted to access the Group and saw that I could no longer access the Group. I could only access the Home Page and there was the 'Join Group' Button - when I clicked it - I was 'notified' that I was banned!

I still am awaiting a response from the one lady, which I hope to receive, but as I said in both my emails to the owners that whether I get un-banned or not that it is their prerogative! But, one thing is that I KNOW I am innocent and my conscience is clear!

I would like to clear up ONE fact though and that is something that keeps popping up in the various posts :

When I post ANY updates about new Freebies / Alpha Letter's that are available - usually for a limited time - on a YAHOO Group - I have ALWAYS stated that these are for Members and I have ONLY posted the HOME PAGE URL!

Now remember that in order for ANYONE to be able to ACCESS these designs you MUST be a MEMBER so that means you have to JOIN that Group!! THAT is WHY I don't feel Guilty and NO DIRECT link HAS or CAN be posted by myself to ANY YAHOO Group FILE or DESIGN!

Secondly, the ONLY reason WHY I do post ANYTHING about YAHOO Groups is the fact that MOST of the time I DON'T receive updates about the NEXT Letter/s or Design/s that are available because of VARIOUS reasons i.e. my HEALTH, Problems with my ISP, the fact I share a computer with 3 other people, etc - SO I rely on THIS Group for ANY updates so that I too DON'T miss out on my Alpha's etc and I return the favour!

I just don't feel that I am doing ANYTHING wrong by posting that information....!

So after I have explained the above which I have done once before a while back - I hope that everyone will understand NOW WHY I do this and that I cannot see anything wrong!

You can PM me if you have any further comments so as not to clog up the Group!

Dear Tinfriend, dont sweat it, I too have been banned, some of the owners of these yahoo groups are so full of there own self importance, they forget they dont have a 'group" if they forget the people. I was banned because i forgot to tick the box that said individual emails. I tend not to do that because then your email in box gets filled with every little bit of flotsum and jetsum the group generates. Lets be honest most of us do not want every message or comment. I am also very selective in the groups I join or get banned from, mostly its embroidery sites I like that I am prepared to purchase from and only take the odd freebie in order to sample their designs. No you don't understand - I feel that I should NOT be BANNED for something I am NOT guilty of - it is the PRINCIPAL of the matter!

It may sound petty but no one seems to understand!

ALSO I LOVE those 2 sites and their Designs!!!! I have even bought CD's from the one! So WHY must I be punished? I WANT to be a MEMBER of those SITES!
