with his car. He missed the bus of the Royal family, and hit a monument. but there are 4 people killed, 8 people heavenly injured, and 5 people less injured. the Royal family had just passed the spot where the car hit the monument, they saw it happening. It's so sad: what started as a joyful happy day, ended in a misery. most of the parties are canceled. and it's awful that people are killed or injured by one crazy man !!! sorry, just had to tell this.

Oh, Gerry, I'm so sorry!!! I'm glad the Royal family is ok, and that the idiot crazy person did not accomplish his goal, but I'm so sorry for the poor innocent people who were killed or injured!! It's terrible that people think problems can be solved with such random violence. Praying for all the families of those who were killed or hurt, and for your poor Netherlands, a lovely country to suffer such a tragedy. Love, Marji

My daughter in Belgium phoned me with the news, I was happily clearing out the attic and missed the live broadcast. It seems to be a one-man-action, bad enough as it is, but thank goodness, no terrorist or criminal ties - that would have far reaching consequences. Everyone is shocked to the bone!

It was a 38 yr old male, with no psychiatric, criminal, terrorist or activist background. It happened 5 hrs ago, 10 to 12 our time, it took hours to clear the mess. The perpetrator had to be cut out of his car and is now in hospital. The reason for his deed is as yet unknown.

I'm so sorry for that news. Is incredible how people can injure innocents, with guns, with bombs, etc. I will pray not just for the victims but also for him, to receive the forgiveness he needs. Flower and XoXo

A car can be a deadly weapon too, no guns (not allowed here anyway) or bombs needed. However, first thing the police did was get a sniffer dog in her car.

That's exactly what everyone wants to know. Might take a while, he's been operated upon and might not to able to be questioned for a while.

Instead of killing innocent people, why didn't he just take his own life. But they never do. So sad.

First I've heard the news. I'm happy the Royal family is okay but sorry to hear of the injured and dead. I too agree with prayers for the victims as well as this man. I will also include his family as I'm sure they will be suffering greatly through this ordeal.

What goes through the minds of these people?!! Don't they realize that a life taken from here can't be given back! This world is slowly falling apart at the seams. Pray for God's guidance for us all.

it's just awful the man has been captured and is in the hospital too. but it has become a sad sad day!the day of the queen or koninginnedag as we say will never be the same again. and I agree with you all let's pray for all of them. The queen gave a press-message to the people, she looked at least 10 years older,by what happened, on the day that should have been a celebration. as I said; a sad sad day. hugs for you all.
