I know what you mean!!! sometimes we lose track of things when we get on the net!!! you can also pour boiling vinegar in the pan to remove the burned on elements..it smells but works great..

Thanks for this tip, there is plenty of vinegar as 3 bottles were bought to clean copper and only one was used. Now I have a use for one

:) that happens to me many times, Caroline-san! I finish cooking my lunch today almost 2:00 of the afternoon! Where did go those old days when there was no computer around? Hugs to you, Yoriko

Ah yes, we all realise the internet is #1 in the chain!

Ah the internet, where would we be without it?

Nah, not the internet, all your friends on the internet!!! What would you do without them?
Now to clean the burn out of the pan, sprinkle a liberal amount of salt onto it and let it sit overnight. Salt is caustic and makes a great cleaner.

Time flies when you are having fun. I lose track of time too -- especially when I am on this site and when I find a new emb. site to download lots of freebies. I lose track of time when I am sewing and embroidering too. The time seems to fly by. Very enjoyable though.

lol...you aren't the first that this has happened to and I'm sure you won't be the last. BTW...did you know that boiled eggs will blow up when the water has boiled away....ask me how I know. Hate that you've a messed up pan to clean but put water back into it along with Dawn or other liquid dishwashing liquid and return to stove let come to a boil and boil gently for a few minutes this will help to loosen burned stuff...if you have a lot of burned stuff in pan try scrapping bottom of pan with spatula while in the boiling process. Good luck

Thanks to all for the advice on cleaning the saucepan. I went out for the afternoon to talk embroidery, left my husband to suffer the smell and rethink the evening meal

been there, done that, open a window, light a candle, it will remove the odors, get a cold drink, and sit back at the puter til it's time to move on. Next time, do like I do just think about cooking don't actually do it until you've finished with your 'cute' fix.... (giggle)
