I think i have killed my machine, was sewing last night & left the room to prepare tea. Went in to check progress and the smell was deathly. Jammed up on me. Tried it this morning but no go :( ..So its either the Dr or the Mortition

Sounds like you burned up the computer inside...take to shop and get checked...Ask how much before they do it that way you don't put a whole lot into the price.....good luck and so sorry.

Oh Nonna I'm so sorry. I try to never get beyond hearing range of my machine so at the slightest difference I'm right on top of it. Hope you'll have it right as rain soon. *4U

If your machine shreds threads then reminants get caught around a cog and it jams up and yes there is a yukky smell. I was fortunate enough to be there when my machine jammed so off it went on a 2 hr drive to9 the repair man and he got it all out yippee with no effects. As this was its first service ( its only 17mths old) can back better than b 4 needless to say the cotten that shredded is now bobbin thread :. Maybe thats what happened to yours and the cotten that gets wrapped around eventually locks it up and it jams it should be fixable.

SSOOOOOOO--that was YOU I heard screaming last night! I knew it was serious. Look on the bright side--new dream machine--the bad side, learning curve. Seriously, I hope the repairman (not Mr. Mortition) can fix it easily.

Well I guess I got my Elna back just in time!!! When are you coming up to sew?
Seriously, I do hope it is nothing fatal.
Where are you taking it to be fixed?
The Sewing Machine Warehouse here at Penrith supposedly has the best mechanic in NSW.
Just a thought if you had nowhere specific to take it.
Hopefully talk later or will see you Monday morning
I have some Saos, cheese & tomato for lunch contribution.
Truly so sorry about your machine.
hugs n love, M
