and a cut on my left hand pinky finger appears to have become infected instead of healing. Blast it's a nuisance loosing your lymph nodes, they would normally filter any infection and aid the healing process.

I've just finished eating my third ice-block trying to freeze my tongue, heck it is so sore.

Anyway, enough of that, I really just wanted to let you all know how wonderful it is to have my Elna XQ2 back.

It is working like a dream, it is so much quieter and doesn't get hot like it had been. It's obvious now, that it must have been faulty from day one, but being my first embroidery machine, I didn't know that the noise and the heat along the top of the machine wasn't normal!
Now I do!.

How wonderful it is to just set up the design and start embroidering. No worries about tension, breaking threads, running out of bobbin, or having to thread the machine and needle, it does it all and the stitch out is so beautiful.

Yes, I used it for the 'Fight like a Girl' design and before that I embroidered a towel with the Cute Alphabets Rose Alpha "D" for MIL (Dulcie) for Mother's day.

I actually feel more confident using it now, because I know how good it really is and compared to "Thumper" it is whisper quiet.

At the moment though I am embroidering 6 FSL Christmas bells on "Thumper" in the medium, 200 x 360 (8" x 14") hoop.

I started doing these when I first got the Diamond, they were going to be to put on the front of Christmas cards, but then I was diagnosed with bc and everything else took second place to surgeries, etc.

Anyway, having my Elna back is a shot in the arm, though it is really difficult getting around my sewing area on crutches and it takes three times as long to gather up threads and materials.
By the time i get everything organised I need to go back to bed and have a rest. LOL!!!!

Still it's wonderful just sitting out here at the machines and knowing I'll soon be back on top of everything and hopefully once I am well again, I will be able to get organised and uncluttered and have more energy to do the things I love.

I can hardly wait.

I hope everyone is having a great day, morning, evening, or whatever.
I'll be off to bed as soon as Ray gets home from work and we locate where I put my little bag with the house phone and my mobile in it. I've been searching for it for hours and have no idea where I left it. I'd call my mobile but the other house extension says the phone is in use?????

Told you all I'm mrs Durr!!!! LOL!

Hugs n roses n love to all, M

Meg, it is so amazing that you have such high's and low's with all that is going on with you - take care of yourself and get the rest needed to fight all this stuff off - enjoy your elna - use your wheel chair with rounding up your supplies - you will not be as tired. Can't wait for you to be through all this - but know - that there is healing that is slow and will be patient - keep your spirits up. I thought of you this morning - when they we review the Cancer Walk that was local here - were we donate each year - they had some SUPER CAPES and I thought how neat it would have been - had I known about them - before - I could have located you one and sent it to you - they were the HOT item. Hehehe!

Have you tried spraying throat spray on your tongue? It will sting like heck at first but then it should numb it. Or something like ambesol for toothaches would have numbing medicine in it. Hope you feel better soon.

Have you ever tried essential oil of lavender (essential not perfumed) for infections? It's been amazing for me and our family. I was sold years ago when I had a cut on my finger that wouldn't heal for weeks and weeks and I tried a drop on it and it started healing straight away, gone in a day or two (like it should have in the first place in my opinion anyway). I use it on any skin infection now, best thing I have found. I've never had a cat scratch go nasty since. It's my medicine chest in a bottle.

I have used it on conjunctivitis as well successfully - 6 drops in a cup of warm water and lots of cotton balls, using a new ball each wipe bathe the eye stroking downwards across the lashes onto the cheekbone till eye is cleansed of gunk.

Could try a drop on a cotton bud on the ulcer too. Tastes awful though! Or a couple of drops in a glass of water as a mouth wash - and spit it out!. Excellent antiseptic - dreadful taste!!!!!!

Hope you are feeling better after your rest. All the get well wishes are so nice from this group. Wish I knew how to add graphics. Since I don't, I'll offer this: my daughter recently used somethig called "Magic Mouthwash" for mouth irritation(she had been on many antibiotics fo a while)...also, eye infections can be very contagious(be careful with other eye)& strict handwashing. Take care...

Sorry to hear you are not well...as far as all that junk in your head....have you ever tried L-Lysine. My dentist told me about it years ago when I was having trouble with mouth ulcers. You buy it at Wal-Mart in the natural herb section. We buy it in the LARGE size. Anytime we come up with a sore throat, ear aches, mouth ulcers or fever blisters we start taking three 3x a day. Hope you get to feeling better soon so you can enjoy your sewing again.
