Congratulations!!!!!! Nothing in the world like Gkids. Your life as you know it now is over....lol. Let me tell you a story that happened just last night and you will get a taste (and a chuckle) as to how it's gonna be when more come around.
I have 3. A 6 year old gdaugter, a 4 year old gson and a 3 year old gdaugther. Picked them up yesterday as they are out of school right now due to recent flooding in the area that closed schools for this week and maybe longer. All were playing outside yesterday and the oldest came in and ask for a black permanent marker. Knowing that she doesnot get to play with these, I ask her why she needed it. Her answer.... to give our pet Rocks a face. Sounded good enough for me, so I gave her one with all the warnings ( don't mark on yourself, your brother or sister or any other child out there, or anything without coming to me). So she make pet rocks for the entire neighborhood. When done all the kids (5 or 6 I think) came in for plastic bowls and toilet tissue to make homes and beds for these "pets". So far all is going well. Then my 3 ask if the pet rocks could sleep with them. Being the suck up mawmaw that I am, I said "Sure, Why not". All in a day's fun, right. 9 o'clock rolls around and it's bed time. Everyone goes to collect their pets and the gson could not find his. We, including their Mommy, go outside to find pet rock. It's dark by now, so all have flashlights looking for this pet. No luck. By this time he is cring for his pet. And I mean big tears. So we decide to make him another one... Wrong... It's not his pets face. He pitches the rock outside and really starts to cry hard. I'm laughing my butt off, Mom is getting mad, the girls are not helping cause they have their pet, and he is still in tears. Mom finally gets all in bed and tells him he will have to either find it today or get over it. He say's that it will be cold and scared outside by it's self all night...again I'm am rolling in the floor and not helping things much. He finally drifts off to sleep and I guess today we will have the Great Pet Rock hunt again.
So there you go, just a taste of what your in store for. So much fun and so rewarding. Always keep in mind, that when things get to the point of pulling your hair out, they get to go home with Mommy and Daddy!!!! Would not trade it for anything..Love those babies. congrats I know how exciting it is I am expecting my first grand daughter in Aug I am so happy am starting to sew up things now can't wait I can make such frilly girl things now after 2 grandsons
