OK--we need to know what course (if any) of therapy you may need.
1. What pattern?
2. How long have you wanted it? Or was it impulse?
3. Will you use it more than once?
4. Do you plan on framing it as artwork?
5. Can you resale it on Ebay for profit?
6. Is it a missing link in your pattern collection?

If you answered yes or no to any of the above questions, DON'T SWEAT IT. Life is too short :) Take an aspirin and call us in the morning.

Now you must really have wanted it right? I do simialar things, and it's usually because I really really really want it... there fore I don't feel bad...mind you I still havn't used them all as yet, but with 2 GD's they are bound to resurface as 'in fashion' one day...hehehe...Just enjoy what you have purchased....

I've NEVER done anything like this, Monica. Yeah, right, want to see my collection of cat doll patterns? I paid that for some of them, and they are gracing a lovely woven basket in my sewing room, unopened, possibly never to be opened, but oh, the possibilities!! Enjoy your pattern, you deserve it!!! I have just received a bunch of discontinued patterns from my sister. Her mother in law passed and no one else sews but me I received a machine material and the patterns.

I was like a kid in a candy store being able to go through and pick as many as I wanted.

I figure some of them will come back and others I could vamp to use.
Congrats on the pattern though I know how it is when you want a certain thing. LOL I just spent over $200 this past weekend on patterns and material ( don't tell my husband) LOL so 14.17 is doing good. I always tell my husband it could be more LOL

The best way to make yourself feel better is to take out the pieces and carefully lay them on the material you plan to use. Get them pinned in place and bring out the scissors. Cut that sucker out and find the right thread, fill the bobbin, go get a cup of coffee, answer the phone, check the clock. Oh my goodness, it is time to start dinner, put the sewing aside and plan to start on it tomorrow. Hey, you never know you may get lucky tomorrow and actually get the pattern unpinned and if luck has it, maybe a stitch or two done. Of course, by then something else has come up and the pattern will have to wait until another day. "All started with the best of intentions". Of course, after you get a few peices sewn together, you are hooked and not man or beast will be able to stop you until it is finished. After which, you can say that it was worth $14.17, that is, if it fits right the first time! Have fun!!!!!!Linda in Ga

Wow $14.17 for a pattern. They sure have gone up from 20 years ago! Big shock when I started sewing again a year ago after about a 20 year break in buying patterns. I am too cheap to spend that much on a pattern. It would have to be for something very special -- maybe a wedding dress or something for one of my daughters. I usually buy my patterns from Hobby Lobby or Hancock Fabrics when they are on sale for .99 or $1.99. What was the pattern for? I didn't see your reply!!

Monica, I have never spent that much on a pattern and more than likely - never will - but you are the one that has to make yourself feel better - quilt isn't becoming to you. Just make it up and it will look lovely - then you have nothing to feel quilty about.

Just make good use of the pattern...make up something out of that special fabric and put your heart into it with some embroidery.

Grab a small piece of dark chocolate. Take a deep breath close your eyes and repeat after me, "I am worth the splurge."

You now have a pattern to use as often as you wish and an item to be enjoyed by yourself and others for years to come. I myself have been guilty of dropping far more than $14.17 at a restaurant and had nothing tangible (save 40 extra pounds) to show for it. Enjoy the pattern.

Looks like a nice pattern, the vest can be made separately of all sorts of remnants and embroidered to your heart's content, the dress can be used as such, or the 'wings' clipped for something nice and sleek. I think you'll get quite some usage out of it and you'll be so happoy to have it. No chocolate for a month and you've earned it back without even using it. lol. But it does feel like a lot of money for just a pattern, does't it.
