aaround the axis in which the spool is put, and the thread around the axis where the spool is put and breaks. I have read the answer of meganne of the 04 march 2008.She said to use nets, I have not understand how she made them, so I have bought them on ABC embroidery.They are very useful to store the spools, But when I use them on the machine, the thread hook on the net, and it breaks. I have seen on designbysick "the wonder tread guide" perhaps it would be a solution, do you know this ustensil? What do you think of that ?

I have a brother...when my spools start getting tabgled I hook the thread through the thread guide above (the one that is for the bobbin not the tension one)...this helps the thread to pull off at a straighter angle than pulling off at a 90 degree angle...If I could find my camera, (Kids took off with it), I would take a picture and post it for you...this helps me alot...If my spool is too large to fit of the spool arm, it works the same way when I set it down on the table..just a suggestion....deanna p.s. Claude, have you tried to put the spools on the upright holder, with a felt circle beneath it. That works for me on my Designer 1. Or use the Husqvarna 10-spool thread stand you click unto the top of your machine (#412 48 16-02 in their accessory catologue). That one is also very handy to sort your threads in the right order for embroidering a design. And it helps to put the spool next to your machine on a thread stand. On them I can even use 5000 m spools.

Claude, that could be a great tool - I have seen it - not used it - perhaps you need to use a thread stand on the side of your machine. That is what I use for my larger spools of thread. I have tried to find a good picture to share with you - hope it helps.

I'm surprised the nets don't work. Maybe fold down the edge so the ends aren't sticking out over the edge of the spool. Mine get tangled when I don't have the thread press back against the edge of the holder snuggly. Hope you solve the problem.

I have wonder thread guide and is very good and helpful especially with metalic thread. I also use thread stand as Shirlene advised as this pulls thread of the top of spool. Hope this helps Lisa

When I use the big spools on my D1 I put it on the floor so it has a longer way to go to the machine seems it takes care of the problem for me. I just have to watch my cat she thinks I am putting a toy for her and attacks it if I dont stay right there and guard it LOL

Claude, also, if you are using a thread spool holder of some kind on your horizontal spindle, make sure it's on the right way. I have one for my Janome, and if I put it on backwards, the thread gets caught around the spindle and breaks. Usually I use the thread stand in Shirlene's picture, but I'm doing a project where I need just a bit of black, and I keep that on the horizontal spindle. The backwards thread holder really messed me up, couldn't figure it out till I really looked at what I'd done. Good luck!! Hugs, Marji
