able to sleep last night with no interuptions. I got up this morning with only a small amt. of pain. Up until this time I have cried and been sleepless all night and in so much pain the next day that I could not function. The Dr's. were very pleased with how my legs are looking and I now have 2 more scheduled next week. They are talking about being able to do the skin grafts soon so the wounds will heal. All this is caused from poor circulation. The valves in my veins are very weak so that blood will flow down but the valves will not open for it to flow back up. My legs swell until the skin will break open and make these places that will not heal on their own. I know that my prayers and the prayers that all of you have said for for me have been heard. Prayer is a mighty healer! I want to thank all of you for being there to give help when I needed it so much. I had gotten to the point that I was ready to give up and all of you gave me hope. I want to thank all of you that encouraged me and prayed for me. I know the prayers were heard and the kind words kept me going. I have had some family problems also with little encouragement. You have been my family for some time now. You do not know how much this means to me. It would take too much time to name names so I will just say a heartfelt Thank You to all that heard my plea for help and answered. I love you all for being there for me. Linda in Ga

I don't know if that will be the last two but I have two scheduled next week. Up until this week they were only doing it one time a week. I just all the very painful ones are over. They have the places very clean and ready for the skin grafts but everytime they are wrapped some of the white ,dead stuff starts to spread again. I don't know what they call it but it is like bad cells growing back. I am on 2 antibiotics and they keep me sick on my stomach. They are very strong. I have not been eating very much but I think I could have eaten a cow yesterday. I was hungry all day and was still hungry when I went to bed. I know I gained some weight yesterday. I've just been thirsty today. I will have to wait and find out next week if they are going to have to do more surgery. Linda

Linda, God bless, and I pray you will just keep improving. Sorry about your family stuff. I know it can be heartbreaking at times. The main thing is to take care of yourself. we do not have much without our health. H&*.

Thanks for your prayers and kind words. I'm not even sure what to do about the family stuff. That is one of the reasons I want to tear and run.. back to my home where I will be close to family and friends. I am tired of trying to keep the peace when I just want to raise H--- and get it all over with but it will not make any difference to him. I will be the one left hurting. Just as soon as I can get my legs well, I will be moving back home to be close to family and friends. I lost my son when he got married. He has another family now. He has forgotten that I raised him by myself from 11 to 37. No, he did not leave home until he was 37. That is water under the bridge and the bridge is damaged now! Linda

This is exactly what I mean when I say Thank you to all that have supported me when I needed encouragement! You have all been so kind and always there with a prayer and a "hug". I am so far away from all my family and friends except my son and he only has time for his new family since he got married. I am glad that he is happy but I do miss him. I have found this new side of him very hard to understand but am trying to keep peace. When I get well and can leave these good Dr's in the Atlanta area, I am going back home ,even if I have to leave everything I own here. I am not leaving until I get my legs well. I am too close to reaching that goal. All of you have just been wonderful support for me! Of course, my 2 little Pekingese are always close and they give alot of snuggles and kisses. They are alot of smiles just watching them. They both look like they are up to something all the time. I would be lost without them! Thank each of you so much! Linda

Hi Linda, glad to see that it is going better with you. I know you are tired of bed rest but that is all I think will help for the legs, here in South Africa we can buy at the chemist a medicine they called 'SURGICAL SPIRITS" something that you wash or dep the sores on your legs with, I don't know if you can get it there, but I know it works, because my late father-in-law had also a problem with the circulation in his legs and the skin also burst open, and we use that and it heals perfectly. I have not heard of anything like that and this is the second time around for me with this. 5 years ago I had horrible surgery on my legs and ended up in a nursing home for 8 months for them to heal. I was 57. The Dr. then went in and just dug away all the meat on my legs until they looked like ground beef. He did alot of nerve damage and that is one reason they are having to be so careful this time. This Dr. is just wonderful compared to the 1st one I had 5 yrs ago! If I could find something to put on it to make it heal it would be wonderful! They are actually putting something on my legs that has honey in it right now. I can feel it drawing the pain out through the bandages. I am not sure it is healing anything. They are trying to keep it raw so they can so skin grafts. That is alot of reason it has been so painful. It just felt better when I left the office the last time than it has been doing. I am tired of having to spend so much time in the bed with my legs on pillows but if that is what it takes then so be it. I just want them to get better. Thanks for your concern! Linda
Sorry Linda this is something like dettol or savlon, and they use it in hospitals and in doctors rooms, to clean out the wounds. I hope you can find something in this line. Love Marie.

I know that I would not have healed without the Lord's presence in my life. I have had a wonderful back-up group praying for me also and encouraging me when I got down and out. I thank all of you for giving me the moral support that I needed and for the prayers also. I know that it is not over but for once, I felt like I could see the light!
