I have not tried the new thread guide, however,When using metallic thread you should slow your machine down and try putting some 'sewers aid'on your spool of thread. Hopefully that will help.

I have one and I love it. The only problem I see is that if I have short color changes it isn't worth the time to take it off and replace it. But, if you are doing a lot of fill in one color, or outlining something it is well worth it. My Bernia was always throwing the thread off the first hook and wrapping it around the bobbin winding post - causing the thread to tighten and break the needle. With the Wonder Thread Guide it doesn't jump off the first hook.<br /><br />Just for laughs, prior to finding the thread guide I had used the top from one of my granddaughter's Polly Pocket's boots. I cut the top off, slit the side and slid it over the thread hook after threading the machine. It worked and I do still use it if I have a bunch of small areas to sew and need to change thread colors frequently. The kids haven't missed the boot yet either.

Haven't tried it, keep us posted on how well it does. I have found out that thread troubles stem for how the thread unwinds while embroidering. Some brands I have to stand up & let them feed through my stand I keep on desk at end of machine, others feed off the thread spool on the machine just depends on the brand. *4U

Haven't tried it either, but would be interested in how it goes...I have stayed away from metallics because of fear...maybe it's something to investigate.

Hopefully the guide helps. I have one sorta like it, but still set my thread on the table so it has longer to "unkink" before it gets to the threaded part. I also tried the "packing peanut" trick told about on here. I did have to use a piece of tape to hold the peanut still! It wanted to slide up to the part where the thread started into the machine. Now, don't ask ME where that tip is...but am sure whom ever told us can speak up and tell you where to go to read about it!! My hubby thought I was nuts rescueing some of the peanuts from a package that came in the mail as I wanted to use them with my SEWING! But it did help!

Dear one, I have not purchased one of those guides - but I am interested in how it works for you - I do believe you still need to use a net for the outside of your thread spool - it helps draw it up to the guide - here is a great video - that might help - as well. I thought about purchasing one of these guides - then realized - that I don't really have a problem with metallic thread - why buy it - if you don't - Hehehe! Keep us informed and if you are just coming here and not getting your projects started first and changing threads when you can - you are wasting alot of presious embroidery time - believe me - I know. *4U
