I'm in southern California today. My daughter won gold in the state Acro meet last month. Now it's time for the regional meet. She competes tomorrow! I get to use her laptop to download my dailies

Acro (also called acrobatic gymnastics) is done with 2-4 people. My 14 year old daughter is a "base" in a women's pair. She has a 9 year old "top". They do gymnastics and tumbling together. They do tumbling runs and lifts with a lot of balance. USA gymnastics is trying to make it an olympic sport but it's hard to train the little tops for a long time and make them good enough before they outgrow their bottoms. So there are not very many elite teams. She is having fun and it's good exercise. The coach claims it's safer than regular gymnastics because you actually have a second or third person to catch you if you're falling.

Congratulations "Sewmom" - my daughter did Artistic Gymnastics here in Newcastle for 10 years and was State and National champion. I empathise with you re going around all over the place on the weekends for competitions. We had to travel to Sydney to Olympic Park quite a lot and it was a 2 hour trip each way. I hope she does really well with the rest of the competitions. Dana is now 28 years old and can still do the routines - not bad eh? Love and blessings to you Chris
