Not sure about the 'paying' part, but I know that, when I wanted to download a freebie at CuteAlphabets, my CuteEmbroidery password and name didn't work. I had to register there separately - but I used the same name and password for both sites.

Like here, registering and downloading the free goodies is completely free there, too. Hope this helps !

You can only download for free from Cute Alphabets the design that are in CuteEmbroidery too. And those from AmazingEmbroidery if you are a member there. Just go to the download page for an alpha and you'll see the small print telling you:
If you have a paid membership to CuteEmbroidery.com you are able free download this design.
For the others you have to pay.

Cute Alphabets.com, the separate site, does not have a membership that I know of, you just purchase packs or individual letters. If you have a membership to Cute Embroidery.com, you can download any alphabet in the alphabet section of Cute embroidery on your membership for free. Even though some of the same alphas are offered on both sites, members get them free here at Cute with membership, non-members have to pay either way. CuteEmbroidery.com and CuteAlphabets.com are two totally separate sites with different rules. With Martine's (mops) exception below. Clear as mud? Good luck, Hugs, Marji
