I dissolve the small pieces in water and use them as starch for fsl if it is not stiff enough or for ornaments that are not fsl that I wanted to stiffen (like the santa faces from ABCnana4me). If you have to wash your fsl it will restiffen it.

I have heard this too but haven't tried it yet. I have also heard that if you add a little rubbing alcohol to the mixture, it stays fresh for longer but you should still keep it in the fridge. *4u

I do this and it really does work. Good for slippery fabric which don't stay tight in the hoop and slide away from your stablizer. But if you let it sour it realls smells bad!

Yes, some people call it Goop. I'd just be careful of what fabric you 'paint' it onto, don't use it on something that will be stained by water. If you have larger pieces, but not large enough for your hoop, you can also zig zag them together with water soluble thread, and make big enough pieces to use. This would be done with the cloth type WSS, not the plastic wrap type. I save my scraps in a zip-loc bag. When I need "Goop" I make it by the pint in a jar with a tight lid. If you add a capful of alcohol it keeps for a long time
