Oh my goodness - she must need a pillow case or two - you could embroidery her name or initials on some towels or a bag - you just can't have enough of those - when off to college. Whatever you do - please post your project for us to gain inspiration from. *4U

I just gave my sweetie's granddaughter luggage, but she didn't seem to be impressed. Maybe a microwave oven instead!!!

I got luggage for graduation too and an electric typewriter. (Oops, dating myself.) She's going to London this summer so I think she already has luggage.

That's sweet. She made one for my son last year. He loves it! Then I embroidered her name on a really soft store bought one for him to give her.

I'm voting for the towels! I always do a set of 2 towels, 2 hand towels & at LEAST 2 washrags. Don't monogram the washrags, but DO put the initials on the side in one of the small fonts that's on my regular machine. Everything has to be marked when you go off to school, and I always try to find the school colors so I can do the towels & monograms in those colors.

That was my first idea too. I'm going to check with her mom to see if she needs them.

Lots of good ideas. Just one other I can think of If you make any of the frames I am sure she would love that. They all like to bring pictures from home. I know my kids did.

A Good lamp to put on a desk to study by. The lighting in most dorm rooms is dismal! OR a laundry basket filled with detergent, fabric softener,Rolls of quarters for the coinlaundry machines. Not a light up your eyes gift, but one she will be happy to have!

Love the laundry idea, also include a drawstring laundry bag to hold her washing (suitably embroidered and named) and hang behind the door.
