Hello Cuties! Time is flying by it seems, except when I didn’t hear from Cuties. I am sure a lot has happened to everyone in the time Cute was ‘off’. There have been many changes in my family. We have more great grandchildren for instance. Ty and Dalto each have daughters now and Caleb had another son. We just went to his 1st birthday party and the day before we went to my sister in law’s 100th birthday. What an age difference!

I have been quilting mostly, but for our family reunion around July 4th I made gifts for all the women who attended. When I told them I wasn’t able to embroider any of the gifts bc my computer was done my husband’s uncle heard me. A day or so later he brought me a monitor screen, keyboard and modem. He said when he retired his trucking business he just left everything in the office and locked the door. He told me if this one gives me any trouble he has two more, he will just bring another.
I sewed totes, casserole carriers, remote control caddies with set of 4 coasters, aprons, runners, etc my usual stuff. I don’t take trips with my niece anymore since I fall so much. I sure don’t want to be out of state and break a bone so that ends my traveling with the group.
I read a lot when I was on the mend. I broke my left wrist 18 months before I fell and broke my right should last December. I found a couple authors I liked, Charles Martin and Kristin Hannah. Hannah’s two I really liked were The Women and The Great Alone but they kept me stressed out- lol Martins books I liked were a series of 4 about Murphy Sheppard who rescues children from traffickers. I really enjoyed those books.
My youngest daughter Ashley hosted another exchange student from Switzerland, this time. Lia was a delight to have. She loves us as much as we did her. We all cried and her too when she had to leave in June. We still get to talk to her on apps on our phones. She sent me pictures this week of her family’s vacation in different European countries. I think they flew to Germany and boarded a cruise ship. Lia, Ashley’s family and I all have Friendship lamps so everyday we check in with those just to in a way say ,” I am here and thinking of you’’. We say we co-hosted Lia bc she along with Nora and Gus stayed with us a lot . Ashley’s husband had a tumor come back in his head and had surgery in December again. He’s doing ok now. Also Ashley was in the hospital with Avery several times so Lia really got close to us and we to her.
We had a wedding in the family in July. Our ‘unofficially adopted’ granddaughter Eva, from Spain married a great guy from Ashley’s church. They both are starting their 4 th year of college. Eva will be in veterinary school and Issac will be an architect. They had a beautiful wedding and honeymoon was in Costa Rica.
Well that’s a few highlights of our family, since last we could communicate here. I read how Chris’s grandkids are all growing up. Time doesn’t stand still for sure. Nora just had her 13th birthday but is so TALL , she looks older. She is all legs-lol She just made her second quilt top. She made herself a throw size and this last one she will be giving to a new mother from their church. The baby shower is the 12th of September and Nora can’t wait to gift her quilt for the baby.
