But theres hus,xxx,& others i understand what they stand for but what isjpg???
That is just a picture that you cannot embroider. It must be digitized (to give it stitches) so that it becomes hus, pes, xxx and others, then for embroidering. If you download jpg files, you need embroidery sotfware to digitize it so that you can embroider it. Hope you understand beter now. Good luck !!

When it is ONLY a JPG then it is CLIPART for digitizing!
As per the other replies you received - you need to buy the software (programs) in order to convert the picture to stitches so that it can become a design i.e. PES, HUS etc!
IF it is amongst the design you DL'd then the digitizer added it there to see what the design looks like - as some people don't have programs to open the design BEFORE they want to stitch it - so now they can with this jpg!

jpg is a format used for clipart and photo's. When you see it together with embroidery formats it can either be the clipart it was digitized from or a picture of the actual stitch out, so you can have an inkling of the quality.

jpgs are compressed pixel images... simply put, clip art or photos. Depending on the resolution used, some may appear very sharp while others very blurry. If someone has a choice to download for digitizing, I would suggest vector clip art. wmf, ai, files like that. These are math calculations (algorithms) that enlarge or shrink to perfect ratios. You can use Microsoft programs and Adobe Illustrator for these.
