I believe Pfaff is now part of the Husqvarna family and yep she's gonna need a reader/writer and some type of computer program. I had 4D embroider when I had my 955D and it used the cards, now I 've got the designer 1 and still use the same 4D but use a usb stick instead. She can probably find one cheaper on ebay if she wants to take the chance or her dealer will have everything she needs (of course). She can also buy cards that are already loaded with designs and bypass the 4D. Hope this helps a little. . . . . .

I have a 2124 and my machine uses a card. Here is the web site for pfaff /www.pfaffusa.com You can then locate the closest dealer on that sight. I know they have a 2134 that uses a card. I live in MN and we have 3 dealers in the area.

To read the Pfaff card she'll need the Pfaff reader/writer box and software to go with it. Since Husqvarna and Pfaff are now owned by the same company, they can use the same software - but they use different cards, so each has its own reader/writer box. But some Pfaff models can have a direct link to the computer - in that case you'll only need software - ask your dealer or visit the Pfaff website.

Glad there are people that got this sorted out for you, Pauline. I have to say, the more things I read on this site, the more glad I have the Janome. It was pure dumb luck I got that brand, but I'm finding it so much more user friendly that what some of you are saying about your machines. Best of luck to you and your daughter, Pauline. Please ask her to photograph her card, clear close-up and send it to me, also which format her pfaff uses and photo of the end of the machine where the card goes, if there is a cover over the card slot, tell her to open it and take a photo of the slot as close and as clear as she can.

I could not find any 2034 in pfaff's list of machines, only a 2134, which does use a card, so i'll need more4 info on the machine before i can find any answers for her.

Hi, are you sure this isnt just a plain Sewingmachine? I looked it up on the german Sites and it is listed as regular Sewingmachine not Embroidering - Sewingmachine. But maybe i am wrong.

If it is actually a 2034 it's not an embroidery machine, and won't use a card of any kind. It has some built in embroidery stitches, but you can't load designs to it. On the other hand if it is a 2134, she will need a transfer system to load designs to a design card. I'm not sure if any of the other systems will work for Pfaff, but a phone call to a Pfaff dealer would hopefully get you an answer.
