Being you're going to tear away or cut the stabilizer aroud your design anyway, why don't you mark the stabilizer after you've hooped it, rather than your fabric?

I hate to tell you, but every time I have tried to re-hoop....I don't care how well everything was marked, I have found it impossible to get it PERFECT. It is always 2-3 threads off in either or both direction. The lady who always helped me when I was starting said....forget it...take the stitches out and start over. Maybe I'll learn something here on how to do it.

I agree with Jerrilyn--just toss it and start over again. You will never get it to line up right again, and you won't be happy with it. Someone else might not notice the mistake, but you will. Hope this isn't the thread killer.

Well, I never had anything jump out of the hoop, but I did have a design I digitized mess up on me, and I had to re-digitize part of it. I sent the repaired part to the machine, and for some reason it didn't line up correctly, so I just used the 'jog' feature on the machine and kept moving the hoop to where it was in the right position, then it was ok. The design wasn't "perfect" anyway, but it turned out really good, and I like it and wear the shirt. You can't tell where I fixed it, anyway. I did play with it for a while to get the needle to come down in just the right place, though. Good luck, hugs, Marji

I also agree with Jerrilyn. No matter how hard you try to get it just right --it will never happen. You would never be satisfied with the finished design. If it was me, I would cut my loses now instead of after I drove myself nuts! Of course, if you are like me, you may have to try it just once to see for yourself. Good luck, whatever you decide.

Well - I too have to agree with Jerrilyn - Cut the losses right now. This happened to my granddaughter today while she was doing something for her mother. I "THOUGHT" I could fix it, but only made the mater worse. So tomorrow, we do another panel over. We learn from each experience, don't we?

I have never been able to rehoop anything exactly as it was. sometimes u can add something to the design such as a word or some flowers to cover up where u rehoop but most of the time the entire item is lost. *

I agree with everyone below. I had a needle break (when I used the screw driver to loosen the needle the whole thing that holds the needle pushed over) and theoretically I should have been able to reset the design to where I started but it didn't work and I had to start over. Re-hooping is much worse than that, impossible in my world.

the times i've had these were awful, because it's very difficult to re-hoop. mostly the only solution is start all over, sorry.

I agree with the others - Jerrilyn is right on with this one - cut your losses and save your mind - I have attempted many times - never did enjoy the outcome - the embroiderer's eye is a terrible thing - Hehehe! *4U

As many times as I have tried...it NEVER gets in the same place....MOVE ON....either Rippit...Rippit...Rippit or just DONATE it!! Those without don't care...just want some clothes!!!

Your best bet is to do a basting stitch around the inside of your hoop before stitching out the design then at least you will have a larger area of material and backing joined together to re-hoop.

Also, you should use your software to print out a template and set up your design in the hoop to match your template,
Then, if you do have problems you have something to work from to rehoop, to help you find the centre of the design, giving you a better chance of realigning your stitchout.

PS, I always use VANISHING marking pen to mark centre crosshairs, also top tobottom, left to right and diagonal from corner to corner.

Thanks to everyone who has given me advice. I did try rehooping but I saw that it was not working and gave up. I did rehoop something and had to cover a small bit, there were 75,000 stitches and it was on the last 2,000. I was able to cover the very small gap with free machine embroidery. I actually trace the inside of my hoop with a fade away pen when doing something critical. I trace all the way around the inside of the hoop on the fabric after hooping and mark center top,bottom and sides. I have saved several items by doing this. It gives you precise marks in case you have to re-hoop.

I read all the replies, and being new to embroidery, I now know that if something like that happens to me, not to waste time trying to rehoop. I'll just rip it out and start over. Thanks for all the tips you all give. Flowers to all of you.

Oh Boy...I Feel our pain! I have had this happen more than a few times! I'm sorry you had this happen to you,but I just got some good ideas from the responses.So...thanks for asking this question.
