It should hold a lot. I have a 298 gb portable hard drive. I have had it for about a year and it is not nearly half full yet. I have thousands of designs on it. Hope this gives you some kind of information.

I have a 250gig hard drive. I have 15000+ embroidery files and document files that relate to embroidery. It only used 1 gig of space so far. So really you could have probably at least a one million+ embroidery files on the hard drive.

OMG my external hard drive has about 55000 designs on it along w/other stuff,as well. these things are great. they can crash, too, but hubby says the info is still inside...available to get at.

i have a 250 gig hard drive and have over 2 million designs and still have 120 gig left and thats all thats on mine is designs

I have a 500 GB hard drive, my son bought it for my for valentines day, I take a lot of photo's and they are very large files eats up a lot of space real fast LOL but this HD is great. If you are looking to purchase 1 may I suggest a site I go to for all my electronics. They are a search engine for all the deals on the web. I just had my nephew pick up a new HD for his base tower ( he burnt his out ) but it was only $45 for 600 GB with free shipping. I have seen good deals on here for externals but I don't need one now LOL

I have 750 gig that I got for a steal on clearance for $50.00....I have over 13,744 folders and in each folder there are hundreds of files..I don't think I have used 20 gigs of space on it...so believe me 250 is plenty...

I have one 250 GB : it already contains thousand of designs and can still receive thousands :o)

yes it will hold lots............and lots before it is full.
