You make my mouth water - wish we had a store like that around here. Yesterday my daughter came home (I was babysitting grandkids) with six huge shopping bags of fabric. She has a friend who was a textile major in college and she was cleaning out her stash. My daughter knits more than she sews, but she didn't even offer me a piece. I have the key to her house though.

Love silver!!!!!!!!

Did you end up at The Craft Depot? LOL.
That's where I'll be heading to next week when I travel to Sydney for a few days. Can't wait. All my credit cards are paid off, so........

Irene gosh let me know when you are coming . We might be able to meet up. I know another store not far from there in Ryde that has good ( cheap ) fabric too. And yes it was the Craft Depot. Sorry to keep you all guessing :)

That store looks like quilter's heaven to me. I'm sure you had a lovely day, overdraft (bread and water only for a month would cure that) or not. I'm looking forward to some of the projects you are going to realise with your catch.

Meg spent so much i had to bring her & Melissa home for lunch (H/made soup & rolls )Yea Meg i want to see some results too :)
by meganne 17 Jul 2009
We've been eating stew & rolls for dinner every night since. LOL!!!
Could have saved $100 if I had bought online from USA, but it would not have been as enjoyable.

And what's wrong with grey? I happen to like grey! LOL! especially as I'm that way myself!

Hey gals, did you go to the Hobbysew shop? I was trying to work out which shop was in Pennant Hills and that was the only one I could think of.

I lose myself for hours in fabric shops, it's almost like letting a kid loose in a sweet factory!

The blonde wig looks good too Meg. Looking forward to some of your quilts.

Love and blessings Chris

Well dear we are all in the same boat. Yep Hobbysew/Craft depot. And i was trying to be good & not spend, saving for the craft show in Aug. But i failed.... Yep i prefer Meg in blonde.
by meganne 17 Jul 2009
Nothing wrong with grey, unless your hair was a lovely auburn with only a sprinkle of grey in it when it fell out and it grows back grey "all over"!

Talk about going grey overnight, SHEESH!!!

Don't hold your breath waiting to see 'my' quilts, I've never made one before!

She's one Heck of a lady in my book. Glad you three had fun Pauline! My friend Dori drags me to crafs stores... I wonder why they don't have comfortable seating in those places for husbands or friends that are not power shoppers! LOL

Yes a bench would have gone down well. But one good thing ( Or mabey not ) was a trolley @ the front door for you to load up, We had a great time though :)
by meganne 17 Jul 2009
I thoroughly enjoyed myself but wish I hadn't been shopping for a specific purpose, then I could have bought more varied (and maybe cheaper) materials. LOL!!!
by meganne 17 Jul 2009
Oh and I should clarify....
I'm no power shopper, just bl**dy minded, I had something in my mind and no quilt "purist" was going to deter me from what I wanted. (Though I know she was right in what she said) :-(

I know luckly this store is 45min from home & in heavy traffic. Enough to make one not go too often :)
by meganne 17 Jul 2009
My trouble is I don't have a stash for quilting or embroidery, I mostly have fabrics and laces for baby clothes. Guess I'll just have to start buying! LOL!!!
