Does anyone use the hot fix crystal applicator. Do these crystals have any problems staying on? Also where is the best place to buy one. I want one for my ornaments.

Bev I have been using the crystallizer for about 5 or 6 years now and I love it...I have found the secret is not to leave the heat on the stone for too long...actually about 10 seconds seems to be the best once the Iron is hot hot hot and that applicator wand gets hot let me tell you...I have ordered the stones directly from www.L-Orna.com and you can order the wand from them as well I would go for the best one and the stones are less expensiv if you go for the 144 pack. The company is located in Clearwater Florida. The swarovski crystals are the best and the hot fix glue works well but if you leave the heat on too long it seems to work against them staying on as well. Washing and so on is great as long as they have been applied properly. I hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions I have put them on purses and shoes and jackets and jeans and all kinds of things. best wishes Cricket17

Thank you for the link. Ive decided Ive gotta have one. I didnt realize the stones came in so many different shapes and colors. I love the swarovski crystals for the sparkle. Ive used them in making earrings but have never used the flat backed ones. Thanks for the info. Now to decide what colors i want.

Not taking anything away from Cricket and her choice - but I have used Design by Dawn and enjoy the prices and the quality of their Swarovski Crystals - I went to this site - when I first obtained some designs from Hatched in Africa that used the Swarovski Crystals set from Dawn - the two of them work together for the project. I too have found that too much heat - just melts the glue away - once the jewels attached properly - it is very hard to remove them - even when you attempt to. I bought my jewel iron at the local sewing center years ago - it was called candy gun or something like that. Have fun and show whatever you do in projects - we would love to see what you come up with. *4U

I have one, have had it for 4 or 5 years. Embellished a couple of jeans for my daughter and her colleagues. Must say the stones staid up well. DD had one come of slightly and ironed that on from the back, which worked perfectly. The jeans wore out before the stones came off. Bought the thing - Lorna Decorative Touch Wand - at my machine dealer, here in the Netherlands. The maker's website see below.

i am not sure if this is of help... no idea wats hot fix but i bought those with grey backing, iron on crystals
i have this mango jeans and they have the crystals iron on as well. some of them look like they are going to drop so i iron over them (high heat) to make sure the crystal sticks. till now after 10washes n more, not a single one drop off yet.
i ironed on the top of the crystals, with my shirt above it. hehe

I bought one of them to do crystals on projects. I bought mine from a site called dahrma's was the cheapest price I found they also set me a t shirt for it being my first order with them. I purchased my crystals in a group purchase from a yahoo group they should be having another soon since it has been a while from last purchase. the price was real cheap
I have used them on other things other than my embroidery projects too they turned out great.
have fun with it.

I use mine all the time Bev. I'm lucky in that I have a store 3 miles from my house that sells in bulk hot fix crystals and nail heads (she does mail order too). The do add a lot of bling to your ornaments... also get glitter paint and glitter glue. Fun, fun, fun!
It's all about the bling my friend! xoxo
