We are spoilt, at least I know I am since I have an embroidery machine...have two hand cross stitch that have been hanging around unfinished for about 7 or 8 years, one is a Christmas one and the other is a Welcome to Our Home....must take them with me to Florida this winter and try to finish them...

Good luck on completing your projects. When I cross stitch I always end up losing the needle and it drives me crazy until I find it. LOL.

it's a must that we do not forfet the basics, those fo us who still knw how need to teach the next generation, it is still relaxing and relieves stress. remember

That is such a good reminder of where we have come from. I should teach my girls to do it. Then they can decide if they like it or not. I have all of the threads and the designs.

I have on occasion but since I started machine embroidery it's hard to have the patience for it. I still have a project that I haven't finished from years ago.

That is the reason I dont want to start a major project but a small one shouldnt take me too much time.

I used to do counted cross stitch for years. Afraid my fingers and eyes can no longer do it. Thank goodness for machine embroidery so I can still do cross stitch. :)

I used to do counted cross stitch by hand, did some M.I. Hummel designs that where very detailed. I loved it, but now I have an eye issue and I have not tried that in years. I also have never done cross stitch in machine embroidery. I'm not sure what you would machine embroider cross stitch on.

I used to crosstich too by hand, still have some beautiful designs but my eyes have become my burden and I cannot no longer do the handstitch without multimagnifiers and it's just so disheartening. I was very happy to get my machine for embroidery.

I'm like you tyco, I used to do a lot too, but my eyesight deteriorated and i needed multifocal glasses, which really made it hard. I still have many designs and kits and a few UFO's, but I doubt they will get used aor finished. I love my embroidery machine because it allows to to still create beautiful things. *4u cheers Ruth

I used to do quite a bit of hand cross stitch, but haven't for a few years now, I still have unfinished projects tucked away.
