You will need either the customizer or digitizer junior. The cutomizer came with mine.You will also need the card reader.

can you use Embird instead of the customizer or digitizer on the 300e? the nearest dealer is over 100 miles away from me so i thought if the Embird would work then i could get it online.because I only paid $3oo for the machine i had to buy the hoops and the flash card and adapter for it but the machine works very good.thanks for any help you can give me.

Yes, I think maybe get a hold of the lady to get the software. It's in the software where you copy it to the flashcard. I have a laptop that will take those cards, but I find it easier to stick the card into the Zio usb drive. With the software I copy JEF designs into the card, put the card into the holder and stick it into the machine. My software reads the card, so I don't really need a card reader. But I have Digitizer Pro, not Customizer. You need some one of those Janome software. You'll love the 300E, I sure love mine, great machine! Hugs, Marji

Jan from Janome sent me the Customizer for my Scan 'n Sew since the Personalizer didn't work. I don't know if it's legal to send it to you myself?? All the best, Sandra

You could always go to janome.com and ask Jan the question. I have the 350e which is the next one up. I also use a USB stick to import designs even though it will accept the flash card.

300E does not have a USB port.Only flash card.
Yep, that was one of the few differences I didn't think was worth the extra money. Flash card is fine with me, hee hee hee.
