I am all over the place with my buying. Some local but most on the internet. Sometimes one of the Cutes post a good sale and who can resist that once I look it up. This gets me on e-mail lists and into further trouble. Now only to find time to use it, Ha, ha

I feel like I can get the best deals online, but sometimes my local Hancock Fabric has some really good sales.

I have just received an order from Metro for my thread and I feel like a kid in a candyshop. Needles and stabelizers I buy from my machinedealer. Have never tried that on internet.

Bev, what a great question - I love it - I buy alot of supplies online, in bulk usually. I like to go to the fabric stores and feel the material - a picture doesn't do it for me very often. And I know if we don't buy local - they will be gone and we will be scratching our heads wondering what happened, too.

I buy basic supplies stablizier, thread, etc on internet. Fabric I go to shops. Just had a terrific deal on a local mill that went out of business. Everythings was #1.00 a yard. I splurged and bought over 50 yards. Every imaginable color, texture, etc. That was fun!!

Like many other Cuties there is a lack of fabric shops where I live, so I put a list together of what I want and my closet Cutie friend does so to. Then when I get to the shops I know what I need to buy. I used to buy mail order but the super places I used stopped. But I did find a new curtain shop when in town last. By a great deal of effort I didnot purchase the 3 metres of beige silk in the bargain bin as I know I already have some.
Needles, and stabliser and threads I try to buy from my sewing machine dealer. I like to support him, though my friend bought stabiliser on line. I get a small discount from my dealer as I bought my machine from him

I usually get my fabrics at Joanns but wait until they are on sale. I buy my stablizer there also, I just love their brand and use my 40% off coupon and buy the bolt. I usually only pay about $14 for a whole bolt of tearaway. The quilt shops have fabric but the ones near me only like you if you have their brand of machine so I stay away. My bff Brenda and I will also go to Hobby Lobby 30 miles north of here. We make a day of it, shop, eat and giggle.....

Great question! I usually buy from my local shops. I can touch and feel the fabrics; most of the personnel are both knowledgeable, helpful & friendly. And since I'm a regular customer, I get e-mail notices about sales, previews, etc., which means I get some great buys and first notice about sales.

Hi Bev, I actually live close to all the great sewing stores so I never need to buy anything online. But once we leave San Diego, things will surely change for me! lol

Here are links for places I go regularly... to name a few! I l'm a touchy type shopper, so seeing fabric online doesn't "do it for me"... plus I'm only 1 hour 45 minutes from the fabric district in Los Angeles.
