These squares are just on the floor. I hope to make the quilt 9 squares by 11 squares total. I will need to buy probably another meter (yard) of printed fabric to do so. I cut all squares by hand as I left my cutting mat behind with my quick move (from x).

Ohh, by hand? Yikes! This is just stunning, though, with the white embdoidery on the dark squares, picked up by the white horse heads in the print. Are you going to use the same two materials for your outside edges? She's going to love this, and it truly will be a "comfort" to her, to know every cut & stitch was done with love. You are so kind. Thank you. Yes, I only cut about a dozen squares at one time tho to save my hands lol. The top threads are lite lite grey and the bottom threads are lite lite blue. Will look lovely either way. I did two single squares with "I LOVE HORSES" on it and will sew them back to back so it will be totally reversable. Not sure how I will finish the edges, "Might" do a binding using the deep blue fabric itself....would be easier than all the cutting of the fringe around the edge?!?! *'s n hug 4u2
