I have a netbook. I got one just for use when I travel. I do like it. The minus there is no drive for programs or cds. You can just put what you need on a zip drive and put it on your netbook that way.
The plus is the size. It is a lot better to travel with. Better for security, not as heavy and fits on the little snack tray with a bit of room left for your mouse!
Most of them have just as much memory as any other computer.

I have friends that have them. They're great for travel... looking at email, surfing the web... but they aren't very powerful and you'd want to have another system to do your main computing on.
