Hi Sewmom, If you have the Embird program, go into editor, and in the drop down menu you will see "add tie on/tie off stitches". This will add locking stitches for you. You will see at the bottom (where it tells you the number of stitches in the design) that the stitch count will go up. I have used this feature myself. Hope this is of some help, I'm certainly no expert!

I don't have PE design, but do have editing software. If you want, PM me and I'll redo design for you. Do you know the name of the font?

I am sorry I don't know PE design. I use 3D Pro and Embird and both offer tie-off stitches. Can you see in the 'help' function if PE design has something similar? That would solve your problem. Anyway, your question now goes back to the top, so maybe others can help. Good luck.

I do not know what or how to do it but i do have a solution on any embroidery that you think may unravel use a dab of fray stop or if it is on some thing that is not to be put to the skin you can use a spot of clear nail polish.

I'm sorry, I dont know PE design as well. What about do some zigzag with regular machine? I hope you figure it out.

Sure hope you got your answer....but if all else fails leave a long tail (hope it doesn't automaticly cut thread) and then thread a hand sewing needle and tie off both bobbin and top!

A spot of fabric glue will do the trick. Just be sure to make it small and pat off the extra.

Shushana, I feel awful that I don't know how to help you with your machine - but I do use Fray Block for the ends of stitches that do not tie off well. Hope this helps you - I bought mine at the sewing center, but hear that you can buy it at Walmart and K-Mart, too.

Oh, boy, I don't know PE Design either! Try a search in your on-screen "help" function, search for lock stitch, tie-off stitch--I don't know what else one would call it. Or, failing that, the Fray Stop should do the trick. Best of luck to you!! Here's a flower, anyway.... hugs, Marji

I do have PE Design 7 and I have no problem with embroidering text in satin stitches on terry towels. I use only TT fonts and very oftenm the satin does not even stop at the end of the letter but rather at about 1cm from the border as it embroiders in two directions. My machine is programmed to cut the thread between two letters. In PE Designm I do program background sticthes - I do not know the exact word in english - both zigzag and around - and it works fine on towels. If you want me to digitize something with my version to see if it is any different from youm let me know via a Private Message and I will do this with pleasure! Pat

If you haven't solved the problem by now, try this. Watch CLOSELY and before the machine stitches the last couple or so stitches, stop it, take the hoop off pulling out a long tail of both top & bobbin thread & pull top to the back & tie it off like we used to have to do!!! I find many of the fonts just don't tie off as well as I'd like, so I always use fray check or some other form of check on the back of the last letter at the tie off. My machine too cuts automatically. It SEEMS to hold thru many washings. ANOTHER thing you can do is stop it, go back and stitch over like you said on the last few stitches. Good luck!
