This may be a dangerous suggestion in the wrong hands, so use at your own risk. When we had problems with snaps, my Mom would put the part of the snap with the 'bump' face up on the kitchen table, and give it a little 'whack' with a very small hammer she had. It was just enough to push that bump down and out a little, making it fatter and hold into the hole better. It's an art, this "snap-whacking". For me, sometimes it works, sometimes I totally wreck the snap. Use at your own risk, hee hee hee. I hope somebody has a less aggressive way of fixing the things. Ever think of putting Velcro over the snaps? Velcro doesn't come undone. Good luck on this one, hugs, Marji

I have done the same thing as Marji suggested, however I put a dish towel between my snap and the hammer. Do a few practice whacks on a nail until you get the hang of "gently" tapping. Oh, and P.S. you are NOT allowed to post that you tried this and now can't get the dress OFF! ;)

Monika, what about putting a little hook and eye just under the edge of the material on either side - you can get dark ones these days and that way if the snap snaps - you still are in tact so to speak!!

Maybe wear a different bra - or if it's in the lower regions of the body wear a tight girdle! I don't know what size you are - so these are just purely fun suggestions.

Or on the other hand you could look just like this women!!!!!

Get a good strong pair of Pliers, pull the snaps off and replace with some gorgeous buttons and buttonholes, don't forgt to put the buttonholes, horizontally or you will still undress yourself every time you sit down.

Hey, wait a minute, how do we know you don't unsnap the snaps on purpose to show off your beautiful bod? LOL!!!

Will Monica, no one solved your problem completely (however I DO like the Snap Wacker) but you surely brightened our day with laughter! I bet at least 75% of us have had the same problem!

I have removed the snape and replaced them with new snaps that you can buy at the yardage stores.

Now if I had asked my GM this question, she's have said lose weight, don't sit down or use safety pins. Little smarty she used to be!!!!

LOL... I think we all agree about snap whacking. When I'm in a pinch and don't have the hammer, a small piece of tissue between the two parts will tighten it up a bit. If neither of those work, you'll have to do the buttonholes. OESD has some really nice buttonhole embroidery designs.
