Yes I am married to Santa....Santa Haws that is. My husband started being Santa for the grandkids and the first 2 years he used a spare suit on old neighbor from when the kids were young...So about 4 years ago I decided he should have his own...All the Christmas designs made me think of one of my bigest projects! The VELVET Santa Suit and Hat. Well believe me do we have pictures of this! As he now is Santa for the grandkids schools too! Hee heee. You would never know that this WONDERFUL Santa is really a crusty ol man.... hee hee hee....

He is a sweet cursty ol man.... I love to watch him when he is Santa with the little kids that think he is the reall deal. Our grandkids are very careful not to say that is my grandpa....They know he is a helper...and they don't spoil it for the others.

Well he will be the first to say Hobby not vocation. He doesn't want any part of doing the Mall scene... Oh how I wish he would, he does look so real.

yea mine too. At the school, because he has done it for 3 years now, they see the same Santa each year, so they do believe. The young ones anyway.

Great work on the Santa suit! Where did you find the pattern? I never thought of making one. How fun is this, great to be linked with someone everyone loves!

Thanks, The pattern was a McCalls, I think, then I modified it, the closure zips and then velcros over the zipper. I would like to make him another with a big collar and longer faux fur, but really hat working on the velvet!

Gosh,he looks just like the real Santa I always carry in my head and heart (from small). It is no wonder everybody wants him to play Santa. What a friendly Santa too. Love the suit too.

I know, I bought a portrait of Santa hand painted at one of our craft fairs, for over the mantel during the holidays, the artist used her father-in-law for model and it really looks like my Santa!
