A yellow rose? As in "The yellow rose of Texas..." Maybe put the words "yellow rose of Texas" under it. There's that gorgeous rose here on cute, it's red but you could do it in yellow. Only other thing I can think of about Texas is fire ants, hee hee hee. Oh, and the great piney woods in the eastern part, pine branch with a cone? Good luck, sounds like fun! Hugs, Marji

I just finished 2 sets of stitchery malls fsl blue bonnets. Very pretty but a pain to put together. You have to glue all the petals and some are like teardrops. The end result was worth it.

I don't think I want to put anything that intense on a shirt but they sound beautiful.

What fun and brings back memories. We raised our sons in a small town near Amarillo. I made my oldest son and his wife a western shirt like the Texas flag about 15 years ago. He saw Garth Brooks wearing one and called me up from Guam (3:00 a.m. our time) and described it to me so I could make him one. Took some time deciding how to make each sleeve the correct color and the front had two colors let along the star (I had never appliqued before). Thank goodness they turned out great.

No I don't think so because I mailed it to them. I take pictures of a lot of my things but I don't remember taking one of the shirts. I know I have the pattern I made all my notes on SOMEWHERE. hahaha.

There are several Texas designs on this site that you could use. They are in JEF format.

There is a longhorn steer, fire with a branding iron, cow skull, cactus, coyote howling at the moon. They are cartoony, but some of them might work.
