to open this file windows need to know what program you want to use to open it
windows can go on line to auto or manually select from a list of programs instaled on yr pc.
I saved it on desk top but the icon does not look like a design file it looks blank - I tried to open it with pulse ambassator but still not opens so I downloaded wilcom and still no joy I tried using the internet & all I got was loads of download programs which did not help at all just clogged pc up with allsorts of junk lol please help Im getting sooo fustrated xxxxx Yvonne
But in this case I do not think so.
Embroidery files are no common files to the windows operating system, so i think you try to open the embroidery file out of a desktop file.
That will not work.
I am not sure, if I got your description right, but to change format this will be a working practice:
Open Ambassador, use menu to find the file, choose design and open it in Ambassador (or Wilcom or EOS- I use all 3, for I learned, that some open designs the others doesn't. Have a look in the software section, there I described all 3 with the download links a few months ago)
The designs had to be unzipped, of course. Sometimes the downloaded files are not zip but rar compressed (look at the file extension), for extracting these i recommend 7Zip, it is free and works with both.
With the design opened use "Save as" button and coose appropriate format for your machine.
If you do so and the file isn't read by your machine, try a conversion with one of the other programms.
Hope this helps.
