Use soup cans to hold pattern down to fabric. (or just use ball point pins close to edges of fabric)

Are you putting right sides together??? it shouldn't roll til AFTER you take the pattern pieces off!!

I don't know how big your project is, but when I made a small doll, I used the iron-on paper type stablizer (the one you can peel off and re-use again) all along the cutting lines, then cut through it. It wasn't perfect, but did make it a bit easier to handle. Maybe if you try on a small scrap of terry first, you'll see if it works for you. Lots of luck with the project.

Monica I put weights on them. Anything heavy enough to keep it from rolling but small. I'm lucky enough to have some small round heavy pieces of metal but in times past have used metal washers that were cemented together to make them heavy. *4U

I got this hint from Threads magazine and it works for all kinds of difficult fabrics. Put a layer of tissue paper underneath the fabric. Use weights (I use saucers) to hold the pattern, fabric and tissue paper down, then pin all 3 layers in the seam allowance. Cut the fabric and tissue paper as one piece and keep them attached. The tissue paper also acts a stabilizer and tears right out of the seam.

I use lots of straight ball point pins. If you are afraid the pin mark will show, carefully pin in seam allowance and I leave pieces pined together with pattern on until I am ready to stitch. It is easy to identify pieces if the pattern is still attached. I use small twill tape when stitching shoulder seams on any stretchy fabric.

I do what Lillian suggested, weights... if you don't have any, go to a fishing tackle place and get them there and just make felt covers for them. Works like a charm. Another thing is I don't use scissors, I use one of those cutting wheel thingies (the technical term).

I use heavy duty spray starch on the back of the fabric. You could try cutting your pattern pieces out of freezer paper and iron the pieces to the back of the fabric then you can sew them right thru the freezer paper.
