I heard a tip today regarding metallic thread ... if it twists and breaks, try turning the entire spool of thread "up-side-down" and use it that way / of course it's vertically. It's worth a try!!

I've heard that too. Also heard it about regular thread, and even when hand sewing, you thread your needle with the end you just cut, or was it the end you didn't just cut? What a tip, if only I knew what it was! :)

No matter which way i turn my metalic thread it tangles. i don't get many breaks but that is because i sit in front of the machine and watch it unravel....I NEED TO GET A LIFE!!!!. or maybe the thread companies should figure out a new way of it dispensing from the reel.

I've done that. I have one cone that is pretty nasty after some 1000 stitches or so, then I turn it to let it untangle and repeat the proces after a while. But a threadnet does the trick for me in all other cases.
