Does anyone know about how many colors a spool of variegated thread have on it? TIA ;D

I would say anywhere from 3-5 depending on the thread but that is just a guess. I am not real sure. But I am sure someone on the site knows more than me.

It depends on the thread, Monica. I have a spool that has red, white, blue, yellow and pink. I have a varigated blue spool that has pale blue, medium blue, and white, and a pink spool that has very pale pink, medium, and a darker pink. If you go to Metro, their thread chart tells you how many thier variegated threads have. Good luck and hugs, Marji

Interesting question, Monica, I've never bothered to count mine, although I've stitched with them numerous times. Love and hugs and have a terrific day/night.

Monica, it would depend on the spool of vaiegated thread - they can have 3-8, I believe. Why do you ask? *4U

I need to find some with 8 colors. I saw some pretty designs that had a lot of colors and I thought to myself no way I feel like changing thread all day/night ;D *2U

Hi Monica, I don't know, but I just put a bib in projects where I used a variegated blue - light, medium, dark. Never counted the colours in others. But they come in different types, the ones like the blue, 3 or more shades of one colour, and the multicolour type, often quite contrasting colours, for instance red, white and blue. I've used those to frame names and monograms. I also have a metallic one, called Astro - by Madeira - that has 5 colours - bought it recently and have not used it yet.

I saw a varigated spoil WITH all the coulours on except black at my friend. This is so beautifull, I could'nt believe it. Can you imagine what will come out if you do embroidery with that, she used it for bibs and Kids things. Love Marie
