Someone should come along for you soon, Sara. I have Janome's Digitizer Pro, so I don't know anything about the free software. What did you want to do? When you say "editing", do you mean just resizing, changing colors, or do you mean actually changing stitches, shapes, etc? I think there's a program BuzzTools (?) that will re-size, and change formats. Someone will come along soon that knows, hang in there. Hugs, Marji

I basically would like to take a design and add lettering save it in my files and then send to my simplicity Smart box to put on card to use in machine. I am sorry I am still learning. I can add lettering once I get design to my machine but it is a pain in the rear. And I almost pull my hair out before I am done. Thanks Marji

nanniesara, I think you should be able to add lettering to designs with the Sands software, see answer by lv2sew. It isn't free, but is very reasonably priced. Love and hugs sweetie.
