Sara got a pair of twin American Girl dolls for her 4th birthday, so her Mommy wanted me to make them some clothes. These were all done in a weeks time on top of working, selling puppies and babysitting triplets. What a week!! I'm so glad I had boys. If I had done this when my kids were young I'd probably hate the site of a sewing machine by now.

Sure did. But I got all my work done at the shop, finished the doll clothes with time to spare, and sold the last of 8 puppies. Busy and rewarding week.

I miss sewing doll clothes and can't wait to get a GD so I can start again. Hope she will love the American girl dolls too. You did a great job! (so much better than those Bratz dolls)

I'd much rather sew for the kids than the dolls. All those itty bitty seams drive me nuts. But then when I made preemie clothes for the triplets they weren't much bigger than these doll clothes.

You have been busy. Those outfits are really nice and proably half the price of the store bought ones. Great job.

Less than half. Her Great Grandma bought Prince and Princess outfits for the dolls. The 2 outfits cost her $35. on sale. These clothes were all made from scraps, many of which were left from outfits I made for Sara.

Maryjo, what a great job - you are a special 'Grammy' and Sara and her American Girl Twins will love these. Isn't if funny - how we can do for the grands and still love our craft? *4U

Yea, I do things for them I never would have done for their fathers. Hahaha. No for their fathers I made wrestling singlets, baseball and football pants and jerseys. Much easier than doll clothes.

Oh my; I was counting outfits before I read the text; I thought they were full sized childrens clothes! Whew!
You did a great job; how cute that she will have twin dolls to dress.
Sounds like you're a busy lady!
Merci beaucoup;
*4u!

It would have been easier to do full size childrens clothes. These are for an 18 inch doll.

Maryjo, this may qualify you as going above and beyond the call of duty! What a super grandma you are and what a lucky little girl Sara is. I'm sure she was worth it.;)

I didn't get to see her open the present. Mommy doesn't do parties!! But she called me this morning and was very excited. She told me that "Chrissa"(the girl doll) is wearing her red jumper and white T-shirt today. The phone call was worth all the pick pricks.

Sara will be thrilled with the clothes for her dolls. You did a great job with them. I remember making Barbie clothes for my girls when they were little. Those little seams and stitches are very challenging!

These are great! When my daughter got her american girl dolls, I crocheted clothes for them. I think I'd rather sew!
