make a announcement for cuties who have a private message. So please look if you open the Question & answers at the tap at the right that sais: private. If there's a + at this tap, just click on the tab and you'll see the private message, so you can respond. gr. gerry

Yes, and the + ONLY appears if you "reply" to the question asked, NOT if you "comment" on it, so please always hit "reply", that way people can know they have a message. I think maybe this needs a tutorial, yes? Hugs, Marji

Thanks you mentioned this- I did not dare to start a new discussion, but is it really of general interest when someone gets a PRIVATE message?
It is a bit like whispering on the schoolyard- and of course I am the nerd who does not have a clue.

Thanks for making that reminder. I'm sure that many new folks didn't know about it. It is a nice feature to be able to take advantage of.

Thank you so much for mentioning this. I find it redundant that people place announcements (you have a private message). That's like remembering to use the freebies tab and then going back to the public site and saying 'look here, there's a freebie from #### posted under the freebies - it's a ####.

Thanks again.

Dear Gerry,
I used to just post a private message without putting a notice on the board that I had done so, until I saw that Shirlene was often posting a message that she had sent a private message to someone.
Is it more polite to notify someone (by the post in the general area), or just send the PM and hope that they notice it soon?
Thanks for your help!

No, it is definitely not more polite to notify someone they have a PM. I think it is positively rude to the other Cuties. It is like whispering behind someones back. Those that receive a PM can see, as has been mentioned before, the +1, therefore they DO NOT need to be told.
