My first site was Brother because I learned about it with my machine. But I really took off when my daughter wanted to make a gift and I searched the internet for a free fish. That lead me right here to CUTE! The rest is history.

Ann The Gran. Loved that site. But now just a few of her old designs are free. I've "lost" a little kitty design (had a CD go bad) that I wanted, when there to "re-get" it & it's no longer free. And it is an old design as I got it years ago. I rarely go there anymore

Monica, I am not sure which sites I went to - in the beginning - but I do know the site I bought my first online purchase was Dakota Collectibles - I bought from them for a long while - before I started to look at other sites. So tell us - where did you start? *4U

Oh - I didn't realize that you meant a forum type - CUTE is the only forum that I really go to - I have tried one or two of the others - but never really figure them out. Hehehe!
by shirlener88 22 Sep 2009
I only came to CUTE for awhile - for the free alphabet - then one day - I asked a question and the rest is history. Hehehe!

Ann the Gran for the free patterns otherwise I self taught how to use the Galaxie 2000 then learnt how to use the Galaxie 3000 when I got my own. The very first time I saw an embroidery machine in action I was hooked/facinated and new one day I would get one of my own. Due to the kindness of my friend Kay I did when she gave me the money when her mum died. The rest is history. BUT I hardly ever look at AtheG any more. Ah I also looked at the Brother site. Which was your first site and do you still look there?

First for me was Secrets, and then Ann the gran. From there on I quite by accident came upon Cute, and I just love to be here too.

I was trying hard to remember - I think it was either Ann The Gran or the Husqvarna site. As I bought the Designer 1 Limited Edition machine I got an overlocker (Serger to you guys over in the northern hemisphere)as well and a $500.00 gift voucher to buy designs from Husqvarna. I had a ball doing that. I then went to Ann the Gran and was surfing the internet one day and saw Cute and I hardly go anywhere else these days. The designs on this site are absolutely stunning and the people on here are BEAUTIFUL!

Love and blessings Chris

My first site was embroidery dk. Since then they have changed the site. Back then there was a freebie in every set and they stayed up as long as the design was up. Now there is only one freebei when the set is new then it's back to having to have a membership to buy it.

My first days at machine embroidery were spent on Annthegrann! I could not believe the FREE designs ! Some were very good. My sister and I were the only ones I knew with these machines then. We helped each other learn. 800 mile apart on line !!
Luckily found cute and the like years later when brave enough to surf the net.

Ann the Gran recommended by my dealer,my niece showed me how to get there, was too afraid of computer/internet to go anywhere else for several years until I got laptop then I carted it around to people to show me what to do.It sounds a bit neurotic now I think about it, but I learnt a lot

My first ever Group was the Elna Exers group before I even got my first machine, December 07, and I just checked my profile, it seems I found Cute 2 days before I found Elna Xers. So I guess it has been Cute all the way. Second was either Designs by Sick or Embroidery Library.
These three are still the only ones I visit regularly.
